Lake Eyre-Kati Thanda usually appears as a very vast, salt-encrusted basin however the wet season saw plenty of rain up north which has made its way down the western river systems and heading into Lake Eyre.

The flight over lake Eyre, Wilpena Pound and the Flinders Ranges was fantastic. Graham is an excellent guide with extensive knowledge of history and geography. The accommodation and meals were fantastic. Thanks for a great trip!
Graham’s update – 31 May 2023
Lake Eyre is experiencing a nice inflow of water from the north.
It’s heading down the Warburton Groove towards Belt Bay and it’s expected to be filling Belt Bay by the end of June. The channel county at Cooper Creek is looking great. Goyder Lagoon is the greenest we’ve seen it for many years, this is from all the water coming down Eyre Creek. We also now include a scenic flight over Wilpena Pound, which is just is amazing.
