9 Night Outback Queensland Farm & Property Tag-Along-Tour

Travel West are excited to announce their new motel accommodated tag along tour experiencing Outback Queensland Farms & Properties.  We begin at the Bungil Creek Motel, Roma, where you’ll meet up with Graham and Deb, owners of Travel West, and your fellow travellers for pre-dinner drinks and nibbles.

Travelling in your own AWD or 4WD, this is such a diverse tour. You will hear about the coal seam gas industry and how one family has embraced this work on their property. Spend time at the Roma Saleyards, the largest cattle selling centre in Australia before we head via Surat with time to visit the Cobb & Co Changing Station, through to St. George. Set on the beautiful Balonne River, we’ll join the St. George Cotton & Winery Tour. Spend time with a prominent local in Cunnamulla and hear a bit about the town, carbon farming and exclusion fencing. You’ll drive via Eulo and Toompine, to Toogunna Plains Farmstay for a real ‘on property’ experience. Your hosts Fiona & Adam, who are 5th generation, will share the pastoral history and day-to-day running of the station, and you’ll visit property landmarks including abandoned homesteads, oil fields, shearing sheds and geological formations. The Eromanga Natural History Museum is committed to discovering, conserving, and showcasing the fossil, natural and cultural heritage of the upper Murray/Darling and Lake Eyre/Cooper basins and is home to Australia’s largest dinosaur, commonly known as Cooper! Whilst here we’ll do the Australian Dinosaur Giants Tour. Your journey continues past Thylungra Station, which was Australia’s largest sheep station in its heyday in the 1950’s, stopping in Yaraka, on the Outer Barcoo, for lunch at the Pub. Our destination is Blackall, where we will stay two nights and experience the Blackall Woolscour and spend time with some other locals listening to their stories and why they live here.
